June 28, 2011 brings the birth of Kaunaloa, the greatly anticipated solo CD release from Kauana Torres Kahele. This collection of primarily original compositions showcases his talent as a songwriter and impressive vocal ability as a solo recording artist. Kuana’s melodies have always been intoxicating to me. Kaunaloa, meaning “to persevere,” is Kuana at his best, providing a musical journey to excite and enrich the world of hula and Hawaiian music. I LOVE THIS CD!!

In 1995 Kuana, along with Kehau Tamure, formed the extremely succesful multi- award winning group,Na Palapalai. Their songs are a favorite of hula dancers worldwide.To this day, Kauana's original, "Ke Anu O Waimea" is the most popular hula song in Japan, home to over 10,000 halu halau groups.
