Comments:

On Kauai, Ken Emerson currently performs Hawaiian Slack Key style at the Hanalei Bay Resort - Happy Talk Lounge - overlooking Hanalei Bay and the "bali hai" sunsets- from 6:30 to 9pm every Friday Saturday and Monday night. He also plays blues guitar at Amelia's at the Princeville Airport every Sunday night from around 9 to whenever.

I recommend both experiences as part of any visit to Kaua'i's north shores... Aloha. TR/HPM

Reviews:This all instrumental album features acoustic and electric steel guitar (mostly acoustic) with slack-key guitar--all played masterfully by Ken Emerson. The Honolulu Star Bulletin's John Berger calls it "a must buy for anyone interested in the history of Hawaiian steel." Wayne Harada of the Honolulu Advertiser says: "Emerson immerses style and soul into slack-key and steel guitar, and what a soothing excursion this is." Musicians are: Ken Emerson: Acoustic and electric steel guitar, slack-key guitar, rhythm guitar and 'ukulele. Pancho Graham: Acoustic bass. Rick Hanapi: Rhythm guitar.
